Ana-Maria Bamberger

Ana-Maria Bamberger is a multi-award winning theatre author and producer. She was born in Bucharest, studied medicine, worked at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and the University Medical Center Hamburg, Germany, and first became known for her publications in medical research. Her first play (NOVEMBER), starring Olga Tudorache, Romanias most renowned actress, premiered 2003 at the National Theatre Bucharest and was succesful on that stage for 10 years. Plays include: MARTHA - MARINA, THE PORTRAIT OF DONNA T., THREE O'CLOCK, BELVEDERE, BLIND DATE, TAXI BLUES, 10 QUESTIONS, THE STONE (ROCK AND A HARD PLACE) The plays have been successful on more than 40 stages in 16 countries (including the National Theatre and all other important stages in Bucharest, the National Theatre Sibiu, Teatrul Anton Pann, Kontraste Theater Hamburg, Lichthof Theater Hamburg, Vagantenbühne Berlin, ABC Theatre Prague, White Bear Theatre London, Tristan Bates Theatre London, Petit Hebertot Theatre Paris, the Davenport Studio New York etc.) as well as receiving invitations to national and international theatre festivals and numerous awards. Ana-Maria Bamberger is the Artistic Director and co-founder of Magus Theatre Productions. (
